Sharks Hire New GM

Indianapolis, IN – This morning, the Indianapolis Sharks announced that they had hired up and coming executive Andrew Stone to fill the open GM job after last month’s firing of Kevin Towers.  Stone played his college ball at Southern Michigan University before being drafted in the 6th round of the First Year Player Draft by the Phoenix Saguaros. Known for his ability to make pitchers work, and get on base, Stone put together a very solid career in Phoenix with a career line of .286/.394/.420/.814. Stone issued this statement a short while ago;

“I’m honored and flattered to be able to call myself the new General Manager of the Indianapolis Sharks. I believe this city deserves to have a winning baseball club after building a brand new gorgeous downtown ballpark 2 years ago, and that’s what I intend to do. The front office will work harder than it ever has before to ensure that the people get what they deserve, and we WILL win in Indianapolis.”

Stone has worked in the front office of the Saguaros up until having his name thrown into multiple GM job offers around the league. When asked analytics will play a role in his decision making, he offered up this response, “I believe with the way baseball is going, and the success of certain clubs, you have to take sabermetrics into account when making baseball decision and I think it’s going to a major part in the way we’re going to do business around here.”

Time will only tell if Stone can turn things around for Indianapolis, and Sharks fans are waiting.
